CHARITY PARTNER

The mission of The Shadow Project is to make school more accessible and engaging for K-8 students with learning challenges like dyslexia, ADHD, autism and trauma.

With their connection to education for the neuro divergent community and their active promotion and practice of the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, OAFSAA chose The Shadow Project for our charity partner at this year’s annual conference.

Their mission statement is to make school more accessible and engaging for children with disabilities so they can achieve their full potential. Working at the intersection of disability, poverty and race, their three programs—Goal Setting, SuperSensory Spaces, and Reading Mentors—have fostered social and academic success for over 19,000 under-resourced students in Oregon and SW Washington affected by dyslexia, ADHD, autism and trauma. They envision an education system that normalizes and celebrates learning differences, and supports every student to thrive in school.
